Discovering my self in the world of oil paint.
My artistic representation of a person, in which I focus in the face and its expression. Many people enjoy having a painting made of there family portraits to hang in their homes, or special portraits to commemorate certain events, such as graduations or weddings.
For reasons of an operation I was in recovery a time and I was inspired to do this work. I called her Convalescent because I was regaining strength for the operation and other factors that life brings. Through life one can see that by these things one does not weaken but recover strength.
This is my first attempt with oil paint. It marked a moment in my life.
Piece inspired by the feeling of sadness that we as humans have felt because of the need, anxiety and acceptance of an unexpected change due to Hurricane Maria. Here the link to see video of how the piece was born: https://youtu.be/16YB6cy9LjU. Exposed in the Museum of the Americas within the exhibition called Catharsis: re/constructing after María (2017).
